A Spooky Family Session at Golden Gate State Park

Okay… this has to be one of my favorite shoots to date!

When Brittany inquired about a family shoot with her husband and two boys, it was an immediate yes! I love being able to capture the pure joy and love between a close-knit family (especially when it involves skeleton onesies).

They wanted to incorporate the gorgeous fall foliage here in Colorado, so we headed to Golden Gate State Park on a crisp day in late September.

I had so much fun getting to know Brittany, Sean, Keelan, and Finley. It was so effortless to capture their joy — they were overflowing with it! I could tell just how much love courses through this family and they were such a breeze to capture.

They first spent some time laughing and cuddling up beneath a gorgeous tree. The fall colors were PERFECT. Vibrant greens and yellows warming you no matter where you look. It was so magical!

I love for my clients to bring an activity to do during the shoot that they feel reflects their hobbies, interests, or relationship. The Van Dykes are big Halloween lovers, so they changed into their skeleton onesies and decorated pumpkins in an open field. I was SO excited when they told me what activity they had chosen — I knew it would make for some stinkin’ adorable photos!

What a great way to kick off this spooky season!

Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in a documentary-style family session — I absolutely love ‘em :)
